1. Homecoming Service Event Sign Ups
Join the IUPUI Homecoming Committee for a morning of service on Saturday February 9th. Participants will complete projects for IUPUI's Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 18-22, 2013). Projects will assist the Office of Community Service Civic Engagement in preparing for a week of thanks and giving back to the IUPUI community.

3. Art, Race, Space Symposium
Artists and scholars from across the country will join leaders from Indianapolis's arts and culture sector in an interdisciplinary daylong symposium dedicated to exploring the complicated relationships between art, race, and civic space. In order to encourage public dialogue about art, race, and space, the symposium will provide an opportunity for audience members and presenters to engage in conversations about these matters throughout the day. The symposium is free and open to the public.
4. Last Call: Join the University Library Spring Book Club!
This spring, the University Library will inaugurate its first ever book club by discussing selections from Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies. Copies will be provided (on loan) to attendees and will be available for pickup on Jan. 28th. IUPUI students, staff, and faculty are all invited, but space is limited! 8. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Faculty Staff Council Meeting on Friday

15. Women's Alliance hoping to revitalize feminine community at IUPUI
With many "women" centered organizations and clubs on campus being more major focused rather than "women" focused, founder and president Victoria Lane, inspired by the "Half the Sky" Movement, has created "The Women's Alliance of IUPUI" or "WAI". WAI's goal is to promote and educate about women and girls worldwide while inspiring discussion and activism on campus. Introduced in 2012, publicINreview is a forum where students can connect with professionals and practitioners in the Midwest. 17. Tools For Organizing Your Articles & Creating Citations
Do you need help organizing and managing your articles? Do you want to learn how to create citations with easy-to-use applications? Join us for a hands-on workshop that will make your library research easier and more efficient. Using Mendeley and Zotero (freely available online!), you will learn how to create an account, import articles, books, and other content, organize and tag items, and create citations for your next project. 20. HIV/AIDS Talk and Kaplan Auction
Join Timmy Global Health at IUPUI on January 28th at 4:30pm in CE 307 to hear Dr. Carrie Foote's presentation "Black America: A Neglected Priority in the Global AIDS Pandemic", a topic largely ignored by the media. At this meeting, Timmy will also host a silent auction for a Kaplan test prep course. All proceeds will go towards providing medical care in the Dominican Republic. Food will be provided.
21. Free Wellness Screenings
Student Health Services is offering students FREE Wellness Screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels, body mass index, height/weight, pregnancy and strep test. Wellness consultations and resources are also available. Wellness Screenings are offered Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in Campus Center Student Health, CE 213. Walk-ins welcome. 32. Student Tickets for IUPUI Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet
The IUPUI Athletics Hall of Fame banquet will take place Friday, Feb. 1, at the JW Marriott Hotel. 33. Looking for Healthy African-American Children
Ages 6-18 years of age. They should be free of asthma, reactive airways disease or any other lung disease. No blood disorders, sickle cell trait, sickle cell or thalassemia. The study will include one visit and last approximately 1 hours. The study is to determine reference values for breathing tests in Healthy African-American Children. 34. HPV Vaccination Study for Healthy People age 16-26
Healthy 16-26 year old men &amp; women are needed to test a new vaccine not approved by the FDA to prevent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections (the virus that sometimes causes genital warts and genital cancers). There will be 3 doses of vaccine given over 6 months with follow-up lasting approximately 1 year. Research is done at Indiana University Infectious Diseases Research at IUPUI. 35. Genital Herpes Study
Research Study: Adults at least 18 years old with recurrent genital herpes (between four and 9 outbreaks a year) are needed for a study to test a new drug not approved by the Food and Drug Association. There will be 12 scheduled visits and two 28 treatment periods over approximately 4∏ months. Research is done at Indiana University Infectious Diseases Research at IUPUI. IU Research group is seeking subjects to serve as healthy controls for a study to better understand Polycystic Ovary Syndrome You may be able to participate if: You are healthy, age 18-40, have regular periods, do not have excessive facial/body hair or acne, currently have a BMI between 30-40, and are not pregnant or on birth control. $180.00 will be paid via check upon completion of the study visits. 37. African American Healthy Volunteers Needed for Brain Imaging Studies
IU Psychotic Disorders Program seeks healthy volunteers to participate in a research study using brain scans (MRI). If you are: age 18-23, male, African-American, not on prescription medications, & have no psychiatric illness you may qualify. The study consists of questionnaires, an interview,and one MRI. You will be compensated for your time.

38. Research Study for Children with ADHD and TDD
Investigators at IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry are conducting a research study for children aged 10-14 with suspected ADHD and mood swings. The study examines the effect of an FDA approved medication on a child's ability to regulate their emotions. This study involves six visits to our clinic and two MRI brain scans.
